Thing 10

Social bookmarking. Have imported into Delicious all my favourites but can't see myself having time to do the housekeeping: deleting links that don't work any longer, tagging them all properly and putting them into bundles. (Why does this make me think of kindling for the fire?) So I shall continue to feel that I am not spending enough time on the current Thing while finding it interesting, and will skitter on to the next task that pops up all too quickly. At least by the end maybe even I will have some sort of an overview of what happens in the parallel, electronic part of our library world. If there are enough rainy days I can come back to the various exercises.

Thing 9

So, lagging behind a bit now, oh dear. Have signed up for a Delicious account and installed the bookmarklet tool for quick saving of websites. This may be useful as during the day I work on two different computers. Have tagged some of the bookmarks. Still finding it difficult to remember which webpage I need to have open for the various activities. Also discovered today when trying to help colleague put in her screenshot retrospectively for week 2 that I have already completely forgotten how I did mine. Am I alone in having this inability to remember the earlier tasks? and this is less than half way through our 23 things........

Thing 8

Went on to Picnik and edited a couple of photos and saved them back to Flickr. Seems relatively easy though as usual I get flummoxed by so much choice, e.g.how much colour to add, or how much sharpness. Ended up taking away most of the changes anyway. But can see it would be very useful, had I but world enough and time.

Thing 7

This task was easier than anticipated. Have created Flickr account, joined Oxford 23 Things group and uploaded some photos I took recently, mostly snowy scenes in St John's.

Thing 6

Have subscribed to a few more feeds. And have decided I need another lifetime to be able to explore all the possibilities on offer. There are some fantastic blogs out there. So many parallel universes.

Went back to fiddling with blog appearance. Put photo on navigation bar but no amount of tinkering could make the blog name then legible; tried other photos; tried other colour settings; tried altering font size. Gave up at this point but put photo in as gadget under navigation bar. This now sits in the middle, looks odd but shall leave it there until inspiration strikes again and time allows.............

Thing 5

Have signed up for Google Reader and subscribed to 23 Things blog. Still getting in a bit of a muddle about navigating between instructions and exercises so had to print out instructions, which seems crazy but is now proving helpful.
